Oak Park Window Screen Repair

If your window screen frames are in good shape but the actual screen mesh is old and torn, you might need to either rescreen them, or repair them. We rescreen frames all the time in Oak Park and are always in the area.  If your aluminum screen frames are in ok condition there is no need to replace the frames.

The Screen mesh we use is the charcoal fiberglass 18×14 fiberglass screen mesh material, when we rescreen the spline and tabs are replaced as well.  We like the window screens to fit the way they should, not only do they need a tight and snug fit but also, you need to be able to take them in and out easy and without having to be a screen pro like us.

Window Screen Repair Thousand Oaks

When a window screen looses it’s tab, you will have a very hard time taking the screen in and out. All window screens need to have at least a couple of tabs for an easier removal, if not you will go for the frame and this is the worst mistake you can do for your screen frame.  The screen needs to be straight in order for it to do it’s job.  If the frame is not square, bugs will get in.

How often should you repair or change you tabs, as often as you should change you screen mesh, every 7 to 10 years for best results, look and condition.  When a screen gets rescreened all old tabs should get replace with new ones, and you will have new tabs for years to come.  If you have further questions, please call me.
